“Thoughts”

Three

Three

I really like this piece. Given as a gift to very good friends for their Anniversary.

Although possibly chaotic or schizophrenic in nature, it’s also very calming to be validated within ourselves.

Thought Process

SOLD 4

“Thought Process”

16″ x 20″ Oil on canvas.

This was another departure from my painting comfort zone but I suppose that is how one grows as an artist. It was done purely as a sudden mood shift while thinking about the background. Once completed I was pleasantly surprised and everyone commented on it. It sold at the Art Show. I guess it’s a new fork in the road when the mood strikes.

As far as a title…From some of the comments I’ve received, it hasn’t been decided if they are earthly or ethereal. I believe as I was painting it, with the movement of the brush strokes and use of a pallet knife, it was more about the thought of family, more than a physical presence. I’ll title it … “Thought Process”

Companions

Companions

I had these  small wooden boxes in my basement for years waiting for the day when they called out to be used. The Art Show was the calling. I call them the “Companions” but they actually stand alone. From left to right they are…”129″, “2 Cold”, and “2:17”.  I will include larger photos and the reasons for their titles may be obvious. The middle and one on the right have been sold.

Purple Horizon

Purple Horizon

6″ x 8″ Oil on canvas board. Just a quick exercise in oil painting to free up the mental mood.

Family Of Roses

September 17, 2009

Family Of Roses

Salvaged Art sculpture made with epoxie roses, rusty piston ring and molded faces.  The roses are made one petal at a time and left to harden. Once complete they are hand painted and applied into the sculpture. The sculpture itself is created, once layed out for design, within less than 5 minutes. I have very little manipulation time to rearrange any pieces if they go awry. A few pieces I have, I call “Happy Accidents”. They became interesting without my help.

Uprising
“Uprising” – Oil Painting on three 8″ x 10″ wrapped canvas panels.

It’s hard to believe it’s been a year since I added anything new to my site. Thankfully it hasn’t been a year since I created any new pieces. I will be adding numerous photos along with titles and descriptions of pieces that were shown at the Art Show in Schenectady, New York this past September 12th.

As I did last year, I would like to thank all of the people who stopped by my area to give praise and compliments on my work. It made the damp day a bit more enjoyable. I would especially like to thank P.D. who waited four years to find me again and purchase one of my pieces. I would also like to thank Shirley P., Chris F., and Erich B. for their purchases and a special thanks to Connie and Karen and all the volunteers for making the day a success even with my griping about the weather and to Mabel for sharing her hospitality and sidewalk and Brett and Stacey for the support and friendship.

Finally, before I post some more photos, a very special thank you for my daughters who let me know how proud they are of my work and how that puts a very big smile on my heart.
